Payroll and Tax Administration

How payroll works at YourSource:

Payroll with YourSource is quite simple. We provide a worksheet that allows you to input the hours, commissions, and bonuses of your work-site employees. You can return that information via:

Once YourSource has received the information we administer payroll as opposed to processing payroll. Once your payroll is input into our system, we fax over a check register, which is a report that shows a “mirror image” of the employees check stub. We do this as a measure of checks-and-balances. This allows you to have the opportunity to verify that everything appears correctly and provides a window for you to make any last minute changes. This procedure has proven to eliminate potential mistakes and prevents unnecessary issues. YourSource services include:

Human Resources Management

Employee Handbook
YourSource realizes that company guidelines’ range from industry to industry and even from company to company. That is why our employee handbook is designed specifically for each client to accommodate the most relaxed and the most rigid company guidelines and procedures. Employee handbooks provide written documentation of what is expected of the employee. Many times these expectations are discussed verbally with the employee when they start their position.

With the YourSource employee handbook you are able to document your expectations, rules, and procedures so you have a common understanding with the employee. The YourSource employee handbook also provides a basis for disciplinary action or even termination if these guidelines have not been met. Documentation transfers into reduced liability for unemployment claims, and potential labor disputes. The YourSource employee handbook is also reviewed on an annual basis to ensure compliance with the ever-changing labor laws and regulations that govern employers.

Recordkeeping

Labor Law Compliance
By becoming co-employers, YourSource fundamentally alters the relationship between clients and the client’s employees (often referred to as work-site employees). YourSource assumes substantial liability in undertaking human resource functions on behalf of the client. Work-site employees are provided with coverage under the entire spectrum of employment laws and regulations. YourSource also becomes responsible, and liable, for keeping abreast of the ever-changing city, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Workers Compensation

The advent of workers’ compensation insurance in the United States started in the early 1900’s. In today’s litigious society, workers’ compensation insurance protects the employer from litigation, in the event of a claim, occurring during the scope of an employee’s job. Workers’ compensation is the exclusive remedy for an on the job accident, sickness, disability, or death. 

YourSource is an expert at purchasing and administering workers’ compensation. Insurance carriers offer us discounts because we limit paperwork and are proactive in safety and fraud detection as well as assisting in the management and direction of care. With YourSource, clients no longer have workers’ comp audits or down payments. The billing system is such that the premiums are built into the pay periods. Health & Safety

Unemployment Administration

YourSource actively manages all state unemployment insurance (SUI) claims while small employers often lack the expertise and the time to fight a non-deserving claim. Unlimited telephone consultations for personal or business questions

  • Letter/phone call plus 2 business letters or calls per year

Motor Vehicle Legal Services - Representation for moving traffic violations

Representation for certain motor vehicle related criminal charges
Up to 2.5 hours for help with:

  • Drivers license assistance

  • Personal Injury/Property Damage collection assistance of $2,000 or less

Trial Defense Services

Your provider attorney will assist in the defense of civil suits and job-related criminal charges. Up to 75 hours of assistance the first membership year, which includes 57.5 hours of trial time and 17.5 hours of pre-trial time. 

IRS Audit Legal Services

Scheduled benefits up to 50 hours of professional services from your Provider Attorney, including 3.5 hours of pre-trial time. Coverage includes the return due on April 15th of the first membership year.

Other Legal Services

Any other legal services not otherwise covered by the membership are available at a 25 % discount from the Provider Attorney’s standard or corporate hourly rate.

Flex Spending Accounts

The YourSource cafeteria plan or “Flex Spending Account” enables an employee to redirect a portion of their salary into two specific types of expenses: Dependant care (DDC) and un-reimbursed medical (URM) expenses. A cafeteria plan gives the employees an opportunity to pay for any medical expenses or childcare that have not already been paid by you, the employer. These expenses will be deducted from their paycheck before their earnings are taxed.

Prior to the beginning of each plan year, an employee will elect a specific dollar amount for each type of expense, which will be redirected from their salary. Dependent care expenses may not be paid from an un-reimbursed medical expense account and vice versa.

Redirecting part of an employee’s salary into a flexible spending account(s) means that their taxable income will be calculated after the elected amounts for dependant care and/or un-reimbursed medical expenses are deducted from their salary. They will not have to pay federal income tax, Social Security tax, and/or state income tax on the elected amounts.
